Unless you've been living under a rock for the last year, you've probably seen a tv advertisement for Pillow Pets! If you've got a kid in the age range of, oh say 3 to 83, you probably think Pillow Pets are pretty cool. I know I do!
So, what's a Pillow Pet anyways? Well, it's basically a plush stuffed animal with a connector strap under the belly to create "legs" of the four corners of the pillow. Add some eyes, ears and a nose, and you've got yourself a Pillow Pet! These fluffy, comforting little guys come in so many varieties, there is sure to be one that fits your child's personality!
For my son, the T-Rex Pillow Pet will be perfect, and for my daughter, the Horse Pillow Pet will make her day! Of course, there are also, unicorns, ladybugs, frogs, penguins, tigers, hippos...you name it, there's probably a pillow pet representing it!
Pillow Pets conveniently come in two sizes. The 11-inch Pets are perfect for toddlers and preschoolers as they are a smaller size for smaller kids. If your 'tween or teen is into Pillow Pets, the 18-inch size is probably the best bet. They're big enough to snuggle up with when napping or sleeping at night, and small enough to tote around when your child needs some extra comfort!
Most Pillow Pets are reasonably priced at around $20-25, though some of the more popular Pets retail for more than that. And remember that Pillow Pets are machine washable and dryable, making them very easy to care for and keep clean! (Important especially when you have a toddler who brings his or her Pillow Pet everywhere with them!)
Remember that Pillow Pets are not crib-safe and should not be kept near where babies sleep. They present a suffocation hazard, as any pillow would in a baby's crib, and are meant for children over 3 years of age.
