Make It A Half-term Full Of Fun For All With A Family Holiday Resort Break

Half-term for the children doesn't have to seem like less than a full holiday

, when you can take them to a family holiday resort, and everyone can enjoy a week jam-packed with fun.

School holidays in February, May and October offer a great chance for any family to spend some valuable time doing the things they love together, and go somewhere which has something on offer for all of them, all day, every day.

Here in the UK, we're lucky to have a long and illustrious tradition of catering for families holidaying together indeed, many people argue that we were the inventors of the family holiday, and it was one of the longest-lasting legacies of our proud industrial past.

In those times, though, families were often much more restricted in when they were allowed to take time out of work. Whole towns and cities celebrated their annual 'holiday fortnights', when many of the factories and works would close down completely, and everyone would head to the coast for their main often only yearly getaway.

That was the era in which old-fashioned 'holiday camps' were born, designed to let entire families spend time close to the seaside, and, because of the lack of time they had to plan things, to offer a range of things for everyone to do to help them forget the stress and grind of their day-to-day lives.

Just as life itself has changed dramatically from those days of a couple of generations or more ago, so have people's expectations of their holidays.

That's why today's family holiday resorts put the emphasis on offering plenty for every family member, with the choice to join in a range of team activities, or just please yourself and enjoy the relaxing, chilled-out break you've probably been long looking forward to.

Choose whether to stick to a strict budget and go self-catering, or whether you think it's high time the 'kitchen staff' had a break and it was their turn to be waited on by willing helpers.

You'll also find that, included in the price of any half-term break will be lots of favourite holiday activities, such as an indoor, temperature-controlled Splash Waterworld complex, family funfair, appearances by stars of the children's favourite TV shows, and a programme of evening shows featuring an array of top talent, including of course, the famous Redcoats.

Half-term holidays can be better than those taken at the really busy times, because all the regular attractions are up and running, but they're likely to be that little bit less crowded. So when it comes to getting the most for your money, and enjoying all the inclusive attractions, it's a great time to visit.
