Lice is a common problem among children who attend school
. It is very common for one child to contract lice from a sleepover at a friend's home or by sharing a hairbrush. Another product that works well in conjunction with other treatments includes a peppermint extract and other natural products lice find repellant. Using a quality comb to remove lice eggs from hair can help break the life cycle as well as provide a visual confirmation that the lice have died. Specialized lice combs have fine teeth and are normally made from metal, making them easier to sanitize and clean before using on another head.
This is important in families that might have multiple members with a lice infestation. If lice spend more than forty-eight hours away from human blood, they will die of starvation. Objects like sheets, pillows and other bedding need to be washed and then run through a dryer for at least twenty minutes at a high temperature to kill any lice or eggs.
