Resist the temptation to date anyone new. Though it might feel good in the moment, it does nothing to get your ex back. Fake it till you make it. Over time your rediscovered self-esteem will take over. Until then, look as if you are stronger than you feel. On the inside you may be "dying" but don't let your insides reflect what you're conveying on the outside. One day something magical will happen. You'll wake up and realize that you haven't obsessed about getting your ex back in a few weeks or even months. By this point, word has gotten back to him or her that you've moved on and that you're living a different life and "doing just fine, thank you, very much!".
