Harry Potter Lego Review 2010: Set 4737 Quidditch Match by:Inger Fountain

For the first time in five years Lego has released new Harry Potter sets

. Due out in October 2010 a number of stores let their stock out early which enabled eager fans to get their Muggle-hands on these great sets.

The first new set in this 2010 wave is set 4737, entitled Quidditch Match. Lego released a similar set in 2002 as part of their releases for "Harry Potter and The Chamber Of Secrets" movie. Quidditch Practice (Set 4726) is similar but came with only three minifigs and 128 pieces while this latest set has five minifigures and 153 pieces.

As with most licensed sets the main appeal is with the minifigures. All five are new sculpts and set the standard for this latest Lego wave. Quidditch Match comes with two Gryffindor players (Harry Potter and Oliver Wood), two Slytherin players (Draco Malfoy and Marcus Flint) and Madam Hooch.

Draco, Potter and Hooch all come with double sided head pieces - Hooch being the standout. One side has her spooky yellow eyes while on the other side she wears Quidditch goggles. The printing on the torsos are very nice representations of Quidditch uniforms and all come with capes and brooms. Flint and Wood come with beater bats and helmets (unusual as neither was a beater) which is a nice touch.

The set also comes with a Quidditch stand (blue for Hufflepuff) as well as the three hoops of one side's goal. It would have been nice to have two goals sets but perhaps there will be a later release with Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw (we can only hope!). Other pieces include a chest to hold the snitch, bludgers and quaffles as well as a Quidditch cup. There are also a couple of catapults, presumably to launch the balls in the air.

It's a cute set and will be very popular because of the figures. Even though there will be no Quidditch in the newest movie out in November, expect this to sell well.
