Garth Brooks Tickets - Out Of Retirement, Brooks Is Back
Garth Brooks announced that he would come out of retirement this month after having
only played a handful of performances since he announced his retirement in 2000. The country star is reportedly looking into retaining a residency at Las Vegas' Steve Wynn's casino hotels, reports Las Vegas Weekly. A press conference was held at an undisclosed location following media rumors declaring the Wynn - Brooks collaboration.
Talking to reporters earlier in the week at the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville, Brooks said, "I know this is a young industry, so I'm not sure I'll be welcomed back, but if the fans want me, I still want to pursue my music." The Grammy Award winner and 11-time Country Music Association star is sure to see a surge in tickets sales when online ticket resellers begin offering up Garth Brooks tickets soon.
Brooks is the reigning country star, selling the most solo artist albums in American history, surpassing Elvis Presley during his time at the top with nearly 150 million copies and second of all time only to the Beatles. His mainstream appeal that led millions of fans toward country music allowed his concerts to remain another top draw, with the '90s his peak decade and the "1996-1998 Show" his peak tour - with more than 5.3 million tickets sold and with performances in over 100 cities.
Though he has been officially retired since 2001 with a final album Scarecrow appearing during his last months in the spotlight, Brooks has rarely appeared outside of his Oklahoma state. Though he was surrounded by controversy when his retirement was announced, thanks to a lengthy divorce battle and subsequent marriage to fellow country star Trisha Yearwood, Brooks has maintained a calm life at his ranch with his three daughters.
Most recently Brooks came out of the dark to perform at the Martin Luther King Jr. Day concert in front of newly elected President Barack Obama as well as several other charity events. He vowed in 2000 that he would maintain a relatively quiet lifestyle until his eldest daughter was 18. Though she is only 13, Brooks said during the press conference, "We're going to take the retirement roof off over our head, and I already feel taller."
Brooks first premiered on the music scene during the late '80s after several attempts in Nashville's scene. Originally rejected from Capitol Records, following a live local performance the execs reconsidered and saw the debut find instant success, including the Top 10 track "Much Too Young (To Feel This Damn Old)." It was his sophomore effort No Fences that gave Brooks mainstream appeal as it crossed over to the pop charts with hits "Unanswered Prayers," and "The Thunder Rolls." The set broke country standards when it went platinum, selling over 10 million copies in just two years. Though he felt a few faults with a sprinkling of albums in his career, it was nothing that dissolved his superstar status. The countryman recognized for his rock and roll style concerts and tracks is back - and his fans won't want to miss this.
