Five Things a Personal Trainer Will Never Tell You

It really does take real determination to succeed, not to mention the disruption it causes to family and social life. The treadmill does not really appeal. Nor does a diet of fresh fruit and vegetables, and water! No wonder so many revert to the box of chocolates that have been left over from Christmas! But if you were to discover five well-kept and closely guarded secrets that a personal trainer will never tell you, you'd be on your way to a new regime that you would enjoy, and which could well prove to be effective for you.

To change here could save you loads of money on gym membership. According to some experts in the field, personal trainers are not being as open with their clients as they ought to be, or could be. They have guarded secrets that they do not wish their clients to know. But these experts have disclosed five simple 'tricks' which, if followed, could make your journey to recovery easier, quicker and even more effective.

1. Forget the treadmill.Five Things a Personal Trainer Will Never Tell You

This might surprise you because this is what trainers very often suggest - use the treadmill, and do so many revolutions, or pound the belt for so many minutes. If you thought that that was the fastest way to shed those pounds, think again. One expert has other ideas. This view teaches that outdoor exercise burns off more calories than running on a treadmill. The theory behind this is that the variation in terrain and weather makes the body work harder and uses our core muscles more, and develops our ability to maintain balance. The great advantage of exercising outdoors is that it can be done anywhere, and at any time and is far more physically and mentally stimulating. This beats the monotony of the treadmill any day of the week.

2. Go cold turkey.

Further, one of the great benefits of outdoor exercise is that your body burns more calories in the cold, even when at rest! Indeed, other experts advise taking a cold shower for two minutes every day - just standing there is enough to burn 100 calories!

3. More food, and more sleep.

This is not saying that we can just sit down and eat whatever food we want, and in whatever quantities; the message is to eat smaller amounts more frequently. Regular eating is advice that GPs will give to people with stomach problems; but it applies beyond that! Regular eating of smaller quantities is best. If you go without food for a long while, thinking this will reduce your weight eventually, think again! What happens is that your body will slow down its metabolism, which means that when you do decide finally to let your body have something - anything, that will be stored as fat. Long fasts lead to more fat! It is also important for you to get sufficient sleep - studies indicate that if you get less than six hours of sleep a night, you are 87% more likely to be obese. What a warning! A caveat must be entered here, of course. It is so important that you eat the right kinds of food, and that you diet is balanced. The wrong food tends to make your colon toxic, and a toxic colon, or bowel, could result in over-weight, lack of energy, lack of interest, and any number of psychological and physical ailments.

4. Curl up with a DVD.

Experts suggest that it is crucially important that you adhere to a 6:30pm food cut-off point for one week, and you will start to lose weight. Eating before 6.30pm for a week and you will lose 1.5 lbs - it never fails, so this expert claims! One practical advantage of going to sleep early is that this staves off hunger pangs; and while in bed, you could watch a good DVD.

5. Have a bath.Five Things a Personal Trainer Will Never Tell You

Having a good body detox is one of the quickest ways to jump-start your body into a new routine. One expert recommends making time for a daily bath using Dead Sea salts to thoroughly cleanse the system of toxins which make you sluggish, tired, hungry and unmotivated. Because your skin is your biggest organ that can be safely detoxed, using Dead Sea salt baths really do help to draw toxins out of your system and cleanse your lymphatic system. Two to three handfuls of Dead Sea salts in a bath with nice warm water, and sitting in it Make sure you wrap yourself up to keep warm, and lie down and have a short rest.

Alternatively, a colon cleanse can also do the business, and remove toxic waste from the bowel, thus allowing it to function more efficiently. A properly functioning colon can can do wonders when it comes to general health and well-being. This, linked in with avoiding wrong food, and taking sufficient exercise, preferably outdoors, can bring about fairly speedy improvements in overall health.
