Your car engine converts chemical energy into mechanical energy

. If you are not knowledgeable about car components you will be overwhelmed by the complexity of the various systems involved in getting you from A to B safely, comfortably and quickly. When you buy the stock car you do not have to know much about the complexities involved other than for the features on which you base the choice of your car. However when you wish to do up your car you need to decide about products that are not talked about much in car marketing and sales campaigns but are quite familiar to car enthusiasts.

One such product is an engine pulley. Now even for a person who is moderately well informed about car component an engine pulley will probably not be a familiar product. So it is alright if the term sounds new to you. An engine, you will have noticed has several belts that drive various parts of the engine. These belts as you can expect need pulleys so that they can be held in place and drive the parts of the engine properly.

As I wrote earlier the car engine converts chemical energy into mechanical energy. However all the mechanical energy so produced does not propel the car. Some energy is required to make the parts of the engine work as well. Therefore some mechanical energy that is produced also turns the engine pulleys. The pulleys may look small but there are several of them and they turn at a very high rate. Therefore a significant amount energy is required to turn the pulleys. And if the weight of the pulley is reduced then significant savings are made. Engine pulleys or light pulleys give the same performance as stock pulleys but they weigh less. Therefore less energy is required to turn them. And that helps your car engine deliver more mechanical energy for propelling your car. Which in a layman's terms is referred to as better engine performance.

If you are planning to buy more than the obvious car aftermarket products such as car body kits then you should consider buying engine pulleys. You can know more about the latest car aftermarket products at http://www.ilovebodykits.com.Engine Pulleys - What's that? by:Louie Liu
