Does the Time of Diagnosis Affects Vitiligo Treatment
The skin disorder that causes white patches to occur on the skin is commonly known as Vitiligo and sometimes also acknowledge as Leucoderma which was previously misconcepted as a leprosy. The white patches due to this disease may occur on any part of body and in general most of the pateints suffering from the disease intilaly obeserve the white pathces on sun exposed areas for instance face, hands, feet, arms and lips also area near mouth, nostrils, navels and genital are and communal sites of hypo-pigmentation. The theories state that these white patches occur due to dysfunction of melanocytes.
Melanocytes are melanin producing special cell of the skin that are responsible for giving color to the skin. many experts believe that the white patches or the de-pigmentation is caused due to the mal-functioning of these cells as they are not able to produce required amount of melanin. although the main reason for the dysfunction of mealnocytes is not knwon yet there are many theories which consider auto-immune disease and genetic predisposition as the fundemental reason for causing vitiligo.
The whitish patches are the in basic terms symptoms of Vitiligo with no other forewarning even the skin texture remain exactly the same as before the disease. Also there are no other complaints acknowledge by the patients.
The disease is quite peculiar and act differently for every one this include the reason of onset and even the pattern of onset as for some cases the white patches appears on only one place and remain same for decades and for some cases even for life time. For such event Vitiligo cure is probable to perceive re-pigmentation.
