You have to use one of the dentists that are on their list to get the discount. This is the way most dental plans work, even the ones you have at your workplace. Sometimes your work plan will allow you to go to a doctor that is not on their list but that will cost you more.
So what does it cost to be a member of a large dental co-op? Some co-ops have a setup fee of $10-20 then a monthly charge of $5 10. These plans also have a prescription discount card. If you want to include a number of family members, including parents, it will cost more.
Some of the membership plans give you the dental insurance plan price schedule, so you can see what it will cost you to go to a specific dentist. You dont want to go or choose a dentist, unless you know what their fee will be.
