Complete Teeth Whitening - Is It A Possibility?
The number of people looking for teeth whitening solutions has been on the rise in recent days
. Most probably, this has to do with the fact that people are increasingly conscious of their looks, and that people are also increasingly ready to take proactive steps that can improve their (perceived) looks. In other words, it is no longer the age when 'looks' used to a matter of fate, that we believed you could do nothing about them: there is plenty you can do to improve yourself these days, and many of us are very increasingly willing to walk in that direction.
Now it is doubtful whether teeth coloration is a part of anyone's (genetic) heritage. It is usually an acquired problem, typically from environmental factors like the quality of water one drinks as a child, or lifestyle choices such as smoking. Use of certain medications may also cause teeth coloration. But in the long run, the problem can turn out to be very distressing. And this is where the question of going for teeth whitening comes in. The number of people who look for teeth whitening help is simply amazing -and this is the category of procedures that occupy most cosmetic dentist's time. It doesn't help that even those with reasonably white teeth will still be out there, looking for the possibility of making them 'more perfect.'
One of the questions that the people considering going for teeth whitening procedures is as to whether complete teeth whitening is a possibility. It is not a very easy question to answer, seeing that different people have different ideas of what makes 'complete' teeth whitening. There are people with badly colored teeth who will tend to view the reasonably white teeth present in the majority of the population as something to yearn for. At the same time, the people with such reasonable white teeth will be looking for the glittering white variety, typically found on some showbiz celebrities.
But whatever the standard one aspires to, with today's dental technology, 'complete' teeth-whitening would most probably be a possibility.
Of course, what you ultimately end up with, in terms of teeth-whitening results, depends on what you are willing to pay for it. In other words, you pretty much get what you pay for. The glittering white teeth we seen on those showbiz celebrities are usually acquired at considerable prices, which are fortunes for most people, through procedures such as laser bleaching or veneering. On the other hand, you can get a 'do it at home' teeth whitening solution for less than a hundred bucks, but you wouldn't quite expect such glittering results.
Worth noting is that a considerable percentage of the people posing the question as to whether teeth-whitening is a possibility tend to be people who have tried certain methods, without much success. This is where it is also worth mentioning that, depending on the teeth coloring problems we are looking at, some teeth whitening approaches simply won't work. The 'do it home' mild teeth whitening gels, for instance, are simply not likely work for a person with intrinsic teeth coloring problems emanating from use of water with too high fluoride levels. That is a problem which is sometimes only (completely) solvable through a procedure such as veneering or bonding.
It helps to talk with an experienced cosmetic dentist, who can tell you what your prognosis for teeth whitening is, and what the best approach for you would be. That would be better than attempting to do it yourself, and draw the conclusion that teeth whitening is not possible; whereas it is you who is going about it the wrong way.
