You can also find out if any types of complaints have been issued against that dentist. If you have children you want to find out of they will see them too. What hours is the dentist available? Some of them only work a few days a week at a particular office. Others are open some evening hours and a couple Saturdays a month too. This is a more flexible schedule that could better for you. Then you arent taking off work or having the kids miss school to get to dental appointments.
What about emergencies? Is there a phone number you can call when you need to be seen right away? That is important with any dentist as you dont want to be in agony waiting several days before you can get an appointment.
Make sure you ask any dentist about the cost. Even if you have dental insurance there can be some things not covered. Are they going to offer you a decent payment plan that works for your budget? If you dont have insurance do they have a discount program you can apply for? The more information you gain up front the easier it will be for you to find a dentist that you are very happy with.
