Breast Cancer Facts and Talk
This month is of special attention to cancer, specifically breast cancer, as it is breast cancer awareness month. People from all over the world are expressing their love and care about breast cancer and its victims, its early detection, awareness and cure. Breast cancer is the fatal disease of our times, changing the lives of so many women and in many cases, taking their lives away too.
Statistics show that one out eight women will develop breast cancer. That means each year over 150,000 women diagnosed with breast cancer from which 45,000 women will die of breast cancer this year in the US alone.
A very sad but fashionable reality.
When it comes to finding the right treatment, there is a variety of options out there promising a cure. The most common are the conventional treatments, such as radiation, chemotherapy, and surgery. There are other, more holistic treatments as well, that are usually recommended to assist with the cancer, while undergoing conventional treatment. There also is another great treatment that seems to meet the golden line combining conventional with holistic treatment, which seems to be the way medicine will be developing in the future in an integrated way between Western and Eastern Medicine.
This treatment is Hyperthermia.
Hyperthermia and low dose radiation delivered through IMRT is an excellent and very effective therapy combination for most superficial cancer tumors, and in many cases, they can be treated with a curative intent. In many situations, this is the answer to some of the most frequently asked internet questions such as: (1) what is the cure for breast cancer, the cure for prostate cancer, the cure for inflammatory breast cancer, or the cure for head and neck cancer.
Inflammatory breast cancer (IBC) is more aggressive than other types of breast cancer and it is one of the most aggressive of all cancers.
The best treatment for primary inflammatory breast cancer (IBC) is multimodality, as described in several reports in the medical literature. These reports are quite consistent, with no recurrence in about a third of patients following chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and mastectomy. Hyperthermia, which is a gentle heat treatment, seems to be the protagonist in the statistic charts these days with highly successful results, especially for breast cancer. Hyperthermia, heat, raises the blood circulation and improves the oxygenation of the blood. The oxygenation of the cancer cells with the localized Hyperthermia machines, make the cancer cells more susceptible to destruction and adding low dose radiation makes the tumor shrink and deteriorate. In addition, the low dose radiation (IMRT), is targeted, which means it takes the actual shape of the tumor, so it affects only the bad cancer cells and not the healthy tissue around them and therefore does not harm the rest of the body.
Since the radiation is low dose and fractionated, which means divided in low portions of radiation treatment, the patients experience minimal side effects, if any, and that is the main benefit with this treatment, compared to any other treatment provided out there. Hyperthermia has nothing but benefits for the human body, as this is known to mankind for centuries now, that heat has healing abilities. The body's method of healing itself is through a fever. Therefore, when we get sick our body creates an artificial fever to fight off the virus and bacteria. Everybody knows how good exercise is for us, as it creates a fever and the heat is very beneficiary to all human organs.
It is no secret that normal radiation or chemotherapy weakens the immune system, which does not assist the body fighting the cancer. It has been repeatedly proven that the method of Hyperthermia is highly effective for treating cancer, when no other treatment has been applied before to the patient, as their immune system is still able to fully function and cooperate with Hyperthermia for the best possible results, and especially those patients, are the ones that live forever, without any recurrence and cancer being a part of their lives ever again.
