Be Creative With Feng Shui In Children's Rooms

Feng Shui is a popular decorating style that is based on the logical structure of living spaces

. It is highly recommended for use in children's rooms, in order to ensure harmony, relaxation and inspiration as well as success in school. Avid believers in Feng Shui claim that the arrangements within a house can easily affect the feelings of the people who live there, as well as attract certain energies in their lives.

Look around your child's room and you'll see many different belongings. If you notice the room is very crowded and you also see your child has a hard time concentrating, it may be due to the design. By opting for a nature-like style, you'll make it seem simpler and not too distracting. Soft fabrics and lighting will apply this Feng Shui feeling in your child's room.

You want to make sure that nothing in your child's room will cause harm. You want it to be a safe and comfortable when your child enters. Placing the bed against a wall will keep them safe from falling out of both sides and choosing a light fixture which they are able to turn on and off themselves will show them there's nothing to be scared of. They also will be able to flip the switch in the middle of the night if they feel scared.

Clutter must be consistently purged. Remember to place all electronics, books and toys in storage bins tucked away in the closet or under the bed. You can also use a beautiful armoire to hide other unnecessary distractions, such as a television, video games, or a stereo.Be Creative With Feng Shui In Children's Rooms

Just like adults, children need their rest, too, so keep the room stimulation to a moderate level, in order to induce sleep once it is time for bed. Extremely bright pastels should never be used in a child's room because they can cause the space to be overwhelming and stimulating. You should also make sure toys put back in storage bins and tucked away immediately after play time is over, so that the child understands that it is bedtime.

Area rugs are a great way to soften up a rooms feeling. Make sure you choose a soft one to the touch so your child feels secure. Adding an area rug to a room will also balance the walls out.

Even the wall and ceiling angles play a part in Feng Shui. With sloping eaves, posters are not recommended to be put at the bed's head since it creates a sensation on pressure hanging above your child's head.

Before you decide to use Feng Shui in your child's bedroom, you should take some time to study more about the basic principles of home decorating. You should try sleeping in your child's room a couple of times to see how your child feels in there. Take note of shadows you might see and other things that you might hear, feel and smell in the dark. When you wake up, what is your first thought? What is the very first image you see when the sun comes up? What is the very last thing you see before you fall asleep? If your child cannot fall asleep because of a street light or the sunlight, this can be solved by darkening the room with curtains or shades. After staying in your child's bedroom, come up with one word to describe how the room feels and work from there. If your child is old enough, you can get him to help with the Feng Shui decorations. If your child is still young, he will be very curious about everything he sees, smells, hears and feels in the bedroom, so make your changes accordingly.
