You have to balance the keeping of members with the finding of new ones. Once this has been put in place and maintained, you will be sitting on a gold mine. Start losing members at a rapid pace and you might as well just close up shop.

This goes without saying. Members will leave if they are not getting new and exciting information, and you need to feed this to them regularly.

On top of that, you need to give them exactly what they are looking for. Give them the content, make sure it is what they want, and you will have happy clients. Happy clients stay on board, and can remain members for many years.

Membership Site Tip # 2: Hold Regular Surveys.

Never try to guess what your customers are thinking. They all want to tell you what they think about your membership site, you just need to ask. People just love to give their opinion; and if you send them an email with a question or two, you will get responses to your questions.

Show your members that you love to give things away for free. Give them a reason to come back to the site, and check to see who the winner was. Schedule the draw date for a few days after the membership renewal date so that members wouldnt even think of dropping out. They want to win the contest!
