22 Important Things Every African Or Caribbean Adult Male Must Know About Prostate Disorder

There's a silent code within our community which meant Prostate Illnesses are

regarded as taboo that should be kept behind closed doors! Meanwhile, hundreds are dying in silence out of ignorance. This must now change! In the words of our own legend 'Benjamin Zephaniah....'"Man and man must talk about these things, is no shameful thing, you is not a man because you suffer in silence, you is not a man because you haven't been to a Doctor in twenty years, no man, we have to find another way. As man we must learn to communicate and really care about our bodies and ourselves." - Benjamin Zephaniah 2008, 'De Botty Business'Well, here are 22 things you should know about prostate disorder:1. It is official! As an African or Caribbean adult male, you are three times at a higher risk of being diagnosed with prostate cancer compared to a Caucasian counterpart.2. Despite the higher risk level, our ethnic group are the least aware of prostate cancer, and the symptoms to watch out for.3. The higher rate of prostate cases among our adult men in the UK is also found among African-American adult males in the US, the Caribbean Islands and Africa continent itself.4. Compared to any other ethnic community in the UK, only 15% of our adult men know they are at a higher risk, according to research.5. As a result of the disproportionate LACK OF AWARENESS, our ethnic group represents an unusually high percentage of the 11,000 fatalities every year due to prostate cancer. This must change!6. African and Caribbean adult males in the UK are also said to be more likely to develop prostate cancer approximately five years earlier in life than Caucasian men.7. Men with one or more first-degree relatives (father, brother, or son) diagnosed with prostate cancer have an even higher risk of the disease.8. An unusually high stress level is related to most forms of cancer, and prostate cancer is not an exception.9. It is an open secret! Going to see the local GP for a routine check-up has neven been the normal "brother" thing. Is that really a sign of weakness, as we're made to think?10. A correct diet of Red Fruits and Cruciferous vegetables are well known for helping to regulate the prostate.11. Limit Your Exposure to Radiation and Heat around your Groin such as; mobile phones in side pockets, tight pants, lap-tops on your lap.12. Prostate Disorder is not all about prostate cancer alone. It includes the more rampart disorders such as Prostate Enlargement and of course, Prostatitis.13. The symptoms of prostate enlargement or prostatitis affect as much as 8 out of every 10 African or Caribbean adult males in the UK, aged 50 and above.14. Except for a really physical experience of pain or discomfort, the typical African or Caribbean adult male in the UK can go for 10-15yrs without seeing the GP.15. Once, we were told "what you don't know won't hurt you" But how true is that really? These days we know better that "what you don't know is even deadlier!"16. Prostate Cancer should not always be a deadly affair as long as it is diagnosed on time.17. Most prostate cancer cases grow slowly, and you may not experience any major signs or symptoms until advanced stages. This is why YOU can't afford to sit back and do nothing.18. If like me you're a bible believer, you must also realise that not even God Himself will break his natural or spiritual laws for us. The maintenance of your physical health is not his responsibility - 'neglect your precious body and the weeds of ailments will likely grow there.'19. Our men generally never really bother about their health until they are into their 50s and 60s, by then the cumulative effects of the past years of health neglect have started to catch on.20. A culture of a simple PSA prostate health check-up for at least 3-4 times a year is highly recommended for a typical adult African male21. We are African men, we are strong inside and outside, we are indestructible! Right? WHAT IF YOU'RE WRONG?22. "ProsGuard" as a food supplement remains a powerful product for the special prostate need of African men.References: Ethnibus' research February 2008; British Journal of Cancer 2008; Giovannucci E, Liu Y, Platz EA et al Int.J Cancer 2007; Johns LE, Houlston RS. analysis of familial prostate cancer risk.
