Kupwara: Visibly fear-stricken' are the children in Ticker Kupwara even a week after the brutal murder of a 6-year-old girl child by unknown persons.
Ishra, daughter of Mohammad Shafi Malik of Ticker was killed by unknown persons on the evening of March 26. Her throat was mercilessly slit around 100 yards away from her home.
The incident has rendered immense fear in the minds and hearts of children in village to the extent that the life of children almost ceases to exist as soon as the sun sets.
Pay a casual visit to the grief-struck village, which witnessed a tragedy last week and you will not find even a single child on road and for that matter in the yard of the house after the sun-set.
The children, who witnessed a brutal murder, last week are visibly fear-stricken and the horrible scene is still haunting them.
"Still the children are fear-stricken and fear to go out of the house as soon as the sun sets. The children even fear to move to other room in the house. Amid fear visibly apparent in their eyes, the children keep talking about the brutal murder at home and school," said Mohammad Afzal, a father of three girls.
Many children living in the neighborhood, where the incident took place had seen the throat-slit body of the deceased. These children are more fear-stricken and still recall the ghastly scene. "She was lying in pool of blood and breathing her last when I see her. She was my friend and we used to go together to school and shop," recalled Safia, a First class student amid sobs.
The heart rendering incident has also scared the parents who fear for the safety of their children. "Parents are scared about the safety of children after the incident. I personally take children to school, which is at least one kilometer away from the home. Since the incident, almost daily, I call their teacher on phone to know about them. The children have become the soft targets and prone to attacks," said Gulzar Ahmad, a parent.
Police still seems to be clueless in the murder case of sibling and so far has not achieved any breakthrough. (AIP)
