Hailed as being the only one of its kind in the World, the Snake Temple serves as a natural refuge for these fierce predators. Snakes may be deadly creatures but according to the beliefs of those running the temple and its followers, they are the loyal servants of a deity.According to the legend the Temple was built in honour of a Buddhist monk named Chor Soo Kong who provided shelter to the snakes.
