Carlsbad Caverns National Park is secluded and away from city lights, and it's a great place to see the stars. Because of this, the national park runs star gazing events throughout the summer, from March until the beginning of October every year. What will you learn at these events? It all depends! Every star gazing adventure that takes place in the park is a little different.Star gazing takes place as soon as complete darkness falls. If you're going to be around the park for a while, why not hit up the bat flying event at the mouth of the cavern at sunset? From there, you can head to the west parking lot where the star gazing adventure will start off. You don't have to pay to participate in this event.
