I want to tell you about a great weekend that we had. It was one of those spur of the moment trips that we took that ended rather nicely. We do have our share of quirky trips in the past but our trip to Galena is one that we would surely love to reminisce. Maybe it was the Galena bed and breakfast place that we stayed it that made it more memorable. Galena is a small town in Illinois where most of the buildings are listed under the National Register of Historic Places. This was the reason why we decided to go on a road trip here. We wanted to see for ourselves the old buildings of the historical district. Of course, we did research a bit about the town and the interesting things to do there. We also went online to search of a Galena bed and breakfast place where we could stay. We found one which captured our imagination. It was a mansion that was built in the year 1876 and has been beautifully preserved down to the hand-made Czechoslovakian ruby glass windows.
