Take a Tour of the Lake Turkana Once you get to the Turkana District, you will cross the Chalbi desert to the Lake Turkana. This is the largest desert lake in the world. It is about 288 km up to the Kenya/ Ethiopia border. This place is scorching hot and the heat is unbearable. All you can see for miles is volcanic rock and the desert sand. Once you arrive at the Loyangarani Palm Shade, you will set camp at the traditional Turkana huts around. This is a very good place to relax as the huts protect you from the scorching sun. Late in the afternoon when the sun is not so hot, you will be able to visit the lake. You will later return to the camp where you will have diner and stay over for the night.
