Youth Discipline- Try These Positive Parenting Tips To Turn Things Around!

Are you struggling with youth discipline, and is it tearing your family apart

. Try these positive parenting tips to help you get back on track and going in the right direction.

First of all, if you have out of control children, or even if they only misbehave sometimes, but way too often as far as you're concerned, don't beat yourself up. Maybe you haven't been the perfect parent. Well, I have some news for you. There is no such thing as the perfect parent. This is a really important tip because, if you've been struggling with your family for a while now, it has to be wearing you down. The emotional toll alone is huge. So, from here on out, make a pact with yourself to let go of the past so you can concentrate on improving the future.

The second tip concerning youth discipline, actually makes all other tips pale in comparison, except for the first positive parenting tip. If you don't practice tip number one, you may never have the energy or will power to get to tip number two.

Back to tip number two. It's a bit of a story, so please hang in there. Did it ever occur to you while your kids were behaving badly, that the methods of child disciplining that you were using were not working? I'm sure you answered yes to this. How about this. Did it ever occur to you that because your methods were not about positive child discipline, that you were actually making things worse? Not only that, you may, very well, have been causing them to act up in the first place. Before you click away, please allow me to explain.

There is something called cortisol that is produced in extra amounts when a child is fearful and under stress. What happens next is that this cortisol goes to the brain and causes your child to become disoriented. In other words, they have no choice, they have to act out! When we, (I say we cause I used to use all the negative, authoritarian style parenting with no luck also), yell at them before and after they act up, we just help to perpetuate the cycle!

This is even more of a reason to let go of the past, and any problems you've had with youth discipline! You made a lot of mistakes, as did I, but we didn't know better. We only used the parenting techniques that everyone else uses. I knew they weren't working, but I figured it was me, or my out of control kids. It never dawned on me to look at the actual techniques.
