A small business is mainly run by a private owner with few employees and less volume of sales. Such businesses are very competitive and common in all countries like every two among five will run same business. Same product with different rates floats in market. One of the easy ways to overcome this scenario is to create a market to the product. Once the products invade the customers mind then they are very clear in purchasing and even their time is also saved without roaming around the market due to confusion. Small business marketing strategy is enhanced by many owners to withstand the upcoming competition.Marketing strategy should be well prepared and well planned in a way that it hits the customer positively with a smile and in turn gives us a fruit full of customers. A good market study is nothing but a study of customer requirement by conducting survey among the different types of customer. Customers can be split by classifying them in many ways, depending on their age group, wealth, health, profession, size and complexion and so on. The main classifications according to their ages are infants, children, teenagers, adults and old people and according to their wealth are poor, middle, upper middle and rich. According to the health, they are classified as weak and strong. Almost the mind set of each and every customers differ according to their economical conditions and the transport availability to reach the product but the one and only aptitude which coincides in them is that they and their product should be a special one.
There are several ways to market a business. We can provide information about the product and their availability in yellow pages, different type of Medias like television, radio and internet, billboards, distributing small printouts with attracting information, distributing free samples, using brightly colored packets, easy availability in all stores, conducting free seminars, skits in various public places like parks, malls, give free sample for pasting small and simple boards on vehicles and even through demonstration on the doorsteps which will provide a good knowledge and awareness of the product. The intensity of marketing a product will be stronger when a marketing person is a person who has experienced a practical knowledge than a person who just working for that concern. The customers should be attracted by very special discounts, offers and gifts. The special strategy of discounts, offers and gifts should be offered more when canvassing another customer to purchase than the number of quantity purchased by a customer himself. This strategy helps in increasing the number of customers which directly helps to increase the sales.
In addition to all of this, have a survey among the customers at regular intervals. Acknowledge all type of surveys either good or bad experiences by offering them gifts as a reward of trying the product which will create a name and fame.
