The Truth About Ladies Designer Clothes And Sizing
For women that aren't a tiny size 0, it sometimes seems like there is little hope
for them ever squeezing into ladies designer clothes that always verge on the small side. Women are struggling to find the brands they love in the size they wear, and perhaps its time that designers realised that women are not all size 0 models.
Women of all sizes want to look their best which is why the ladies designer clothes market is so popular. But the fact is, if you're curvaceous, designer fashion can be very unflattering. To start with, you have to be able to find a designer brand that caters for your size and this can be a lengthy process for some. Many people do not realise that ladies designer clothes and high street fashions do vary quite a bit in sizing, so try not to get too down about the sizing issue because a size UK10 in high street could quite easily end up being a size UK 14 in designer. Slim women can also appreciate the nightmare battle with smaller sized designer clothes, which is why they often take drastic measures to fit into their favourite clothes.
It is clear that fashion designers make their clothes slightly smaller so that they look their very best when on the catwalk and being worn by the very thin models. However, the reality is that there are many women of different shapes and sizes that still want to be able to wear the latest ladies designer clothes. Designers often only concentrate on how the garment looks down the catwalk, not realising that real women wear the pieces too.
But wait, could things be about to change? It seems that some designers are now catering for women who wear a UK 14, and this can only be a good thing. One brand, Juicy Couture, used to be well known for making small clothes, but their sizing is much more 'true to size' these days, which bodes well for other brands potentially doing the same.
Perhaps its time that designers realised that wonen are all shapes and sizes, and just as we are being told to love our bodies and be thankful for what we have, it is often frustrating to find some fashion designers only cater for the 'small' end of the market. Lets hope this attitude to ladies designer clothes changes soon.
