The Most Important Qualities of a Profitable Home Based Business
When I was first getting into the Home Business world
, I was looking for something that would give me the best profits for my time. I did my due dilligence, looked at the pros and cons, and ultimately decided on what I thought was the best option to achieve this goal.Here are a few thoughts that you may consider important from someone who has 'been around the block' a time or two in the home business arena, and has figured a few things out in the 'profitability' area.
First of all, whatever home business you decide to go with, it should have the potential to make serious profits immediately. I don't know about you, but if I'm going to spend my time working on something, I want it to be profitable as quickly as possible. So whatever product you are going to sell, make sure that it has a pretty high profit-margin and will enable you to regain your investment rather quickly. (ideally two or three sales to recoup your initial investment is optimal). Keep in mind, you have to spend money and sweat-equity on advertising, so that will be a natural cost that will take away from your margin, so factor that in as well.
Something else here, that a lot of people don't always consider is that profit margin is not always the most important factor, as much as the simple AMOUNT of gross profits available on what product you sell.
For example, would you rather have a 90% profit on a $10 sale, or a 50% profit on a $10,000 sale? I'll take the latter.
In other words, you would have to sell 556 of those $10 products to achieve the same result of selling just one of the $10,000 products.
So think about that when you are looking for your best home business. Not only do you want a good margin on what you sell, but you also want to consider products that have a larger amount of commissions available. Make sense? (or as one of my favorite mentors says, it doesn't make sense, it makes dollars... :)
