Today we are going to be looking the Importance of Dreams and why it is important to keep dreaming even after we grow up.
Have you ever noticed how young children have no problem dreaming; fantasising about all kinds of things. Even their games are outside their physical world. My four-year-old brother can already fly an aeroplane, drive a tractor and swim!! Tragically though, by the time children reach adulthood they have often been told so many times to Stop daydreaming! or Be real! that they lose the ability to dream. This is true for us too.
Have you forgotten how to dream?
Everything that is done in this world starts as a dream; an idea that we hold in our mind, then we work on it to make it happen. Think about it! When we want to make something, we hold in our mind a clear picture of how it will be when it is finished.
Take for example: Building a set of shelves. In our mind, we have a clear picture of the shelves. The way it will look when its finished, the room were going to put it in, and the items you will store on it. Then to make the shelves change from just an idea we find the right plans and make sure we have all the equipment. We start work, and keep on working until the shelves are finished. The idea or dream has become reality! We can feel it, smell the wood, look at it, and use it.
So, if everything starts as a dream, a picture in your mind, what dreams do you have?
What do you want to do in your life?
What would your dream house look like?
What kind of income do you want?
If you have forgotten how to dream then take some time to practice. Dont restrict the size of your dreams by thinking that they are unreal and unreachable, and dont allow anyone or anything to crush your dreams. Instead, fire up your desire to reach your dreams.
How do I build desire? you might ask. To build the desire you need, hold your dreams in your mind. Play with them. Imagine yourself actually walking around your dream home or driving your dream car. Write your dreams down and be specific, making them more and more detailed. Find pictures in magazines and put them on your wall or fridge where you can see them daily. Why not even test-drive the car you want, have a photo taken of you in it, and enjoy the emotions you will feel when it is really yours. As your desire grows, you cannot help but move forward towards your dream becoming reality.
Once you know what your dream is, youve stuck up those pictures, or written a list of the things you want to achieve or own. Make sure you look at it often, look at those pictures, and read that list. This will help you to grow your desire and pull you towards your dreams. Sometimes the pull will get slack and it will look like you are going backwards not forwards, but those dreams will keep you going, looking forward and learning new faith each step of the way.

aka. If you can dream and be in control of your dreams then you will find that anything can be yours.
