I am sitting in the terminal at the Dallas-Fort Worth Airport and I have just been reminded that most people share common needs and feelings. As I was sitting here a few moments ago a maintenance man came by, he looked at me directly and when I smiled at him he came over to talk. He mentioned that he had been working all night on the graveyard shift and he was tired. He was supposed to go home but he was asked to work overtime because a couple of his co-workers called in sick. He did not want to stay at work, but he was told that he had no choice. He was making the best of it because he was making time and a half and he could use a little extra money. As I spoke with this man I realized that his situation was no different from what my own had been during the 30 years I working for a large company. He wanted a little bit of recognition; something that all humans crave and something that large businesses are often very lousy at providing. He also had a very common problem; he was not in charge of his own destiny. He was allowing others to dictate his schedule and his life. Of course he could choose a different life, but that is not so easy to see when you have bills to pay and limited skills. This is a truth of existence for the majority of people. Only a small percentage of people will ever really take control over their own time and their own lives. The problem is that many people spend their lives this way and waste their time and talent when they have the potential to be and do so much more. I say these things from personal experience. I wasted many years doing a job that I did not enjoy and selling my soul for a paycheck. Of course it was by my own choice, but I always felt like I had no alternative. Perhaps you also feel trapped or caged by your circumstances. I want you to know that you have the power to change your life if you choose to do so. Take courage! It really is possible to change the entire course of your life. All you need is a burning desire and total commitment to accomplishing what you set out to do. Today I am on my way to Nassau, The Bahamas. It is not the first international trip I have taken, but it feels different because this time it is on my own terms. There is no job waiting for me to come back to. There is no Boss to tell me that I have used up all of my vacation time or that someone else is sick or already asked for the time off so I have to cancel my plans and keep the store open. I have the best business in the world. I can work from any location in the world including the airport or my hotel room at the Atlantis Resort on Paradise Island. My internet business continues to create revenue for me even when I am sleeping or on vacation. If you are ready to take your life in to your own hands and accept the responsibility of creating your own future, then it is up to you to take the next step. Educate yourself, do whatever it takes to develop the skills you will need to succeed and never ever give up on your dreams. I have been blessed to be involved with a community of entrepreneurs that has nurtured my desires and helped me to develop my skills to the point that I can now guide others to design the life of their dreams just as I am doing. I am thrilled every time I see the light come on in another persons eyes the moment they realize that once they fully commit to attaining them, their dreams are not just possible, they are inevitable.About the Author:
