Taking A Family Holiday To Caleta De Fuste
Deciding on where to go on holiday can be a difficult task especially as there are
so many deals around enabling us to fly to numerous destinations at a fraction of what it used to cost.
The Canary Islands have always been a popular choice and never more so than now as most European destinations now provide cheap flights to and from the islands.
The Canaries are made up of seven islands: Gran Canaria, Lanzarote, El Hierro, La Palma, Tenerife, La Gomera and Fuerteventura and are situated just off the coast of Africa meaning that temperatures are pretty good all year round!
The main two holiday resorts for the Brits on the island are Corralejo and Caleta de Fuste. Corralejo is the busier of the two and is located in the North. An ideal place for both couples and families to holiday it is also a popular resort with the youngsters as there are an abundance of bars and nightclubs around the resort.
Caleta de Fuste is the second of the resorts and is located on the east coast of the island and conveniently only a fifteen minute drive from the airport. A man made resort Caleta de Fuste caters mostly for families with young children and couples.
Around the resort you will find an array of activities for children of all ages including archery, trampolines, tennis, mini golf and the famous sand school down on the beach. The beach is in a horse shoe shape and makes a safe haven for kids to swim. The nearby harbour hosts a variety of water sports and there is also a 'Floating Shop' where you can grab the odd souvenir or two and even feed the local fish!
The two main streets in Caleta de Fuste are where you can find a variety of bars, cafes and restaurants. Most of the bars stay open to 1 or 2am and there are numerous nightclubs that remain open until the early hours if you fancy a dance! If eating out is your thing then you are definitely spoilt for choice! Cuisines include Italian, Mexican, Spanish, English, Chinese, Indian and Portuguese so definitely a few to choose from!
The accommodation in Caleta de Fuste is mainly self-catering and range from 1 bedroom apartments to 5 bedroom Golf Villas. There are a few hotels ranging from 3-5* with the 'Barcelo' chain being the most dominant in the resort.
