So many times I've gotten motivated by reading some book or watched an action movie and immediately hit the gym full force the day after. Not only did I end up hurting myself but I also brought my motivation level down again. I make this mistake every time and I am sure everyone else does too. Mistakes are good as long as you learn from it but in my case I keep making it and I need to put a stop into it and so should you.
I was reading somewhere that taking baby steps at any type of change has so much more positive affect long term than trying to get everything done all in a short period. Everything around us has a quick fix for every situation out there. Books, commercials and movies all give the illusion that whatever deep crap you're in, there is a quick fix to it. With this kind of mentality we hurt ourselves financially, physically and psychologically.
It is not fair that we continue to play the circus monkeys of businesses who by using some marketing schemes plays with our emotions all the time. We need to realize that for every positive outcome, there has never been a quick fix to it. Every positive change requires time and patience.
The point I'm trying to make is. Take it easy. Start with a small change. If you want to wake up bright and early in the morning, then wake up about 10 or 15 minutes earlier than your normal routine and then gradually increase the minutes. You don't have to kill yourself. Everything starts with baby steps. Why do you think babies have to learn to crawl before they can walk? Because it's easier to crawl than walk if you're a baby!
Relax and let go of unnecessary stress and stop being anxious all the time. It's impossible to see any change overnight, just take it easy and take baby steps to reach your ultimate goal.
