Who doesn't love Thanksgiving? Every year I look forward to wearing my oversized pants and stuffing my mouth like only us American's know how. While the food is great, sometimes Thanksgiving can bring us members of the online dating club a whole set of problems. We may like the girl we are with and see a future with her, but loving the family isn't quite as easy. Here are a few pieces of dating advice going into Thanksgiving to you survive your relationship and a day with the in-laws:
1. Eat everything grandma and mom offer. You may be stuffed You may be two steps from the bathroom. You may be one bite from being in the hospital. But whatever you do, taste EVERYTHING mom and grandma offer you. Denying their food is a cardinal sin that will leave you in the doghouse in no time.
2. When asked what you think of the food, two words. "It's delicious." Not its okay, its not good, its not tasty, IT'S DELICIOUS! These two words will take you a long way. Trust me.
3. Make yourself useful. Grab a dish and help clean up. They will say no and when you are denied, insist. You will be praised in private the next ten times her family talks and gossips about what a great guy you are.
4. Stick with grandpa. Grandpa has been enduring the pain of family gatherings for decades longer than you have. He is probably the only person even more miserable than you are. However, his survival skills are those of a master. Let him guide you through this day.
Follow these three simple pieces of dating advice and you may just find yourself surviving Thanksgiving day after all! Just stay out of the kitchen while the women are in it!
