The key to successful potty training lies in how the parents overcome the difficulties they encounter during the training process. Though parents may have some sleepless nights they should have patience with their child refusing to be a part of the process. Every child has a different mind set-up and so the nature of difficulties will naturally differ from child to child.
The normal procedure should be followed by the parents and the whole potty training process should be without any sort of pressure on the child to perform at the earliest. To overcome the difficulties the parents should search for designer potties which are now available in the market to induce the child to sit on the potty. It should be bright colored and have an element of attraction for the child to come and sit on the potty. Moreover the potty bought should be comfortable for he child.
If at the start of the potty training the child refuse to be a part of it be patience and start the next time when the situation is favorable. The actual training may vary from child to child and it may a take weeks or months also depending upon the child. When faced with problems the parents should show sign of maturity and never express their frustration on the child for not performing. On the other hand the child should be made to understand that it is nothing serious and it can be tried another day.
So a planning and being consistent with it is all pays for the success. The difficulties may be overcome by showing the child some pictures of some cartoons sitting on the potty or to be more effective a video presentation of a child preparing to sit on the potty which may encourage the child to the potty training process. The child during the training process can be encouraged to wear small underwear which can be taken away very easily if the situation so arise to sit for the training process. Always remember to do the training process at the convenience of the child and not when you parents want.
