Sari is a strip of unstitched cloth. It is draped over the body in different styles but style of wearing sari differs from town to town that extends from four to nine meters in length. If the whole saree and blouse is embroidered, it would be best to wear it in different occasions especially on the wedding day. This garment does not cover the abdomen part of our body. Sari is to be wrapped around the waist with the other end of the drape worn over the shoulder with blouse that is also known as Choli or ravika. It forms the upper garment over which the sari of women and this blouse has short sleeves and a low neck. The color of the petticoat must also matches the color of the sari which is essential as it affects the whole presentation of the sari. It is draped over the body in a vast variety of styles peculiar to specific parts of India. Sari Indian is considered as formal wear dress in India.
Historians believe that the sari evolved from a traditional men's garment known as dhoti but the earliest known depiction of the sari is the statue of an Indus valley priest wearing a sari like drape. Women at all levels love to wear it whether prominent in the upper class wife or busy farm women wearing the same style of the sari. Only difference lies in its texture and numerous precious stones or glass lenses, eye-catching brilliance, hundreds of different colors with different patterns of the sari according to their own feelings and occasions chosen to wear. The general civilian population mostly likes to wear cotton sari but the number is relatively small. The navel of the Supreme Being is considered to be the source of life and creativity.
Sari Indian for bridal is mostly available in red color but this is not mandatory. These saris have their own unique style, designs, works, glamour and fabrics which looks extremely beautiful when worn by a bride and this also adds to her beauty. Initially hand fancywork was done on bridal sari but today with changing times machine fancywork is high in fashion but there are several people who prefer handmade embroidery work on bridal saris.
