Practice What You Have Learned Should Be Your Business Motto For Your Success

Share: Applying new sales strategies will create new sales leads for your business
. If you continue to use the same strategies that produced very little results, you'll continue to struggle as a business owner.
On my way to the office, I was running to catch the elevator. Yes, I was clinging to my briefcase, hoping that I didn't fall in my heels, and yelling for someone to hold the elevator door. You know what I'm talking about. You've seen the picture. When I got into the elevator and pressed the number to my floor, I was unaware of those around me; all I knew was that there had to be at least seven people (plus myself), in that elevator. I stood there looking at the door and then I heard someone calling my name. It was too crowded for me to turn around, so I didn't move (I didn't want to look into someone's face!). After the elevator opened to a floor and some people got off, I looked around and saw my college mentor. Now you have to understand, this was a woman who guided me throughout my entire college education. She advised me on the ends and outs' of owning a business and for that, I owe her my gratitude. It's been over a year since I saw or spoke to my college mentor and we talked for about 30 minutes (no, we didn't ride the elevator and no, I wasn't late for work). She spoke to me about a hair product distributor who needed consulting. She said that the distributor has a very large product line and is continuously expanding it. Money is going out but not enough money is coming in. She is a distributor of so many products and she can't figure out how to get qualified sales leads and still stay within her budget.
I don't know about you, but I think that if this distributor does not make a detour in the business strategies she's using, she'll be headed down that road of no return'.
There will be times in your business life where you will need to reexamine your business situation such as:
1.Being very familiar about what you're selling. Find out everything there is to know about your service or product.
2.Advertising your service or products. This could be through TV, Radio, Business Cards, Classifieds, Websites, etc.
3.Determining whether your lead is a good one. Is your product/service what the prospect really want or need?
4.Showing the prospect that your product or service is good. Show them that your product or service can work for them. Give them examples. Relate the product to the prospect.
5.Knowing how to rebuttal any objections the prospect may have, to buying your products. Research what you can say when a prospect is giving excuses for why he/she cannot buy your product(s).
Focusing on the growth of your business means to : know your products/service well, advertise effectively, get qualified sales leads, relate your products to your customers and knock down your customers' excuses. A business owner who "jumps in with both feet" without learning how to build his sales leads, is destined to fall. Make it easier for
your customers.to choose YOU instead of your competitor.
