Anyone can do this! This is a very dangerous half truth. When people start their own home business, there are certain advantages that one might have over someone else. Some might have an advantage in time, skills and money that others just don't have. But that is not to say that those others can't be successful, it may take them awhile longer to become successful over the ones that already have these important necessities.

An example would be, say someone has a high paying corporate job in sales and they have all these high powered contacts. Now they decide to enter the network marketing world. They obviously are very good at sales and make good money, so they already have a advantage when they start out. First, this person isn't dealing with the financial stress like a lot of people paying their monthly bills and second, they have plenty of money to fund their new business venture. And they have plenty of professional contacts to work with. You can see where they would have an advantage over someone that works at a fast food restaurant or is a college student.

If your on the outside looking in all you see is the enormous amount of money being made when in fact, what you don't see is that it took several years to build these relationships and trust.

In network marketing you need to develop some type of people and sales skills. This will take longer for some people than others, but it is a must. Also, you'll need a marketing budget. Without one, you won't have the fresh constant flow of qualified leads that you'll need. There are two ways of getting leads for your home business. Generate leads through your advertising efforts, or you can purchase leads and have someone advertise your business for you. I suggest that you focus on getting leads through your own advertising efforts, because there is an enormous advantage to doing it that way. Not to say the other way doesn't work, because it does. You could also try a combination of both approaches.

Smart business owners build their teams by working with people and performing those activities that are going to guarantee them the most results.

But anyway you look at it, without leads you don't have a business.
