No More Unemployment – The next threat to the American Family
No More Unemployment The next threat to the American Family
The information has already been disseminated through the financial community. How do we know this? The banks recently stopped counting unemployment insurance as income for loan modifications. Unemployment insurance always qualified before as income and was counted as income until now.
Prior to the Tuesday November 2, 2010 elections, neither side Democrat or Republican wanted to face the political back lash of cutting unemployment benefits. Once the election is over this will all change dramatically, once the politicians are no longer counting on your vote in an extremely close election, the kid gloves will come off.
Many unemployed Americans have been receiving unemployment benefits for as long as 99 weeks. Before the financial collapse unemployment insurance payments lasted 16 weeks in most locations. The additional payments have drained the coffers of our state and federal government.
Obama has to tackle the deficit or he will never be re elected. The easiest way to reduce the deficit is to cut social welfare programs which make up more than 50% of the US budget. Cuts to Social Security and Medicare are probably coming as well but we cannot sustain an unemployment benefit for millions of Americans for 99 weeks.
The inevitable conclusion is that extensions of unemployment benefits are gone and many unemployed Americans are about to lose their weekly unemployment checks. The newly unemployed will probably receive fewer weeks of unemployment benefits in total than currently unemployed Americans. Politicians such as Sharon Engle have already started preparing Americans for the future without unemployment benefits using key words and phrases portraying unemployed Americans as lazy and ungrateful. According to Sharon, American just don't want to take quality $7.25 an hour jobs, they would rather stay on unemployment. Well, shortly this will no longer be a choice.
