Know All About The Process Of Delivering A Baby

Labor and birth have been designed very elegantly and simply by nature

. There is uniqueness in the process. However, the baby delivery process is constant and beautiful. The division of labor is in phases and stages. Thus, various changes that occur are highlighted.

First stage

During this stage, there is thinning and softening of the cervix. Later it opens up. There is settling of the baby into the pelvis. The process will begin with infrequent and short contractions of the uterus. Sometimes, the contractions become closer and stronger. This is also known as the early phases. Sometimes, there is increase in the intensity of labor and they become stronger. There is dilation of the cervix and thinning of the effaces. There is movement of the baby in the pelvis. This is also referred to as the active phase. Sometimes, the intensity of the contractions increases. This is also known as the transition phase. When the first stage of labor ends, there is full opening of the cervix. Baby is ready for movement through the birth canal. As there is progression of labor, the strength of contractions increases. A person will become more serious and focused. The positions are changed more frequently. The breathing should be focused and there should be rhythmic vocalization. All these ways will provide great ease and comfort during labor. A lot of comfort will be provided by touch.

Second stage

Now the baby will maneuver throughout the pelvis. It will slowly descend and rotate through birth canal. This is an important stage of baby delivery process. A renewed sense of optimism will be felt by women. For some women, the contractions are very powerful and strong. For urging the push, there should be complete dilation of the cervix. However, for some women, there is gradual increase in the contractions. One must be prepared for following the body. When the baby reaches the vaginal opening, the intensity of the contractions increase. There is a feeling of stretching or burning. There is variation in such things and it takes time. This depends on the position and size of the baby. The environment also has to be taken into consideration.

Third stage

Here, the placenta is delivered. Usually this is within 30 minutes after the baby is born. Then one can get a joy for holding the new baby. The accomplishment is very delightful.
