Intervention Helps Couples Conceive Babies

Many couples today suffer from trying to have a baby and failing miserably

. Although many of these couples seek outside intervention, very often they are told to go away and keep trying. This is obviously difficult to do when they are so desperate to hold their own child in their arms. However, there is some help at hand from specialist centers so anyone wishing to find out more should look up 'fertility clinic' or 'infertility treatment' to see which one is best.

Of course, having a child seems a very natural thing to do particularly when a couple has been together for a while. It is only when they realize that nothing is happening in that department that they begin to worry that something may be wrong. Indeed, since most couples who are setting out on life together want to get used to one another first, they do not think about it until they are ready. However, when this time rolls around, they realize that they are not getting the results that they want and when they want them.

The natural thing to think is that there is something wrong with the woman when this kind of thing happens but this is not always right. Indeed, there are many things going wrong with this process that may be attributable to the man. If he is an avid sportsman and wears tight underwear, he may be keeping that area too warm to produce viable sperm. He may also have damaged sperm or a low sperm count which also stops nature taking its course and all this has to be investigated before the doctors turn to the woman.

For the woman, life is not that easy for sure. She will have to keep detailed plans of when her periods are, how heavy they are, when she is ovulating -- done by taking temperatures every day and so on. If nothing is evident here, the woman may have to be investigated further.

The inside workings of a woman are very complicated indeed. There are several things which can go wrong and these include some scarring in the fallopian tubes which could have occurred anywhere in her life. This scarring can block up the tubes and this will stop the egg from traversing the tube into the womb. Of course, if this happens then it is obvious that it and the sperm will never meet at all.

Micro surgery is possible to unblock the tubes but if this also fails, the doctors may have to take the eggs direct from the woman and put them together with the sperm. The sperm can actually be injected directly into the egg where fertilization takes place.

Once this is done, the eggs are placed back into the woman where, hopefully, a normal pregnancy will proceed. The problem here though is that the embryos sometimes do not attach, or when more than one is attached a multiple birth occurs. Although this happens less these days, most people accept what they are given at this time.
