How To Start A Lawn Business

Hello, today I'm going to write about how to start a lawn business

. The first things you need to start a lawn business are the tools. You need a lawn mower, trimmer and a blower. Having a good product is extremely important if you want to keep your clients year after year. When you have the right tools, it is easy to do a good job. You usually need about three people to do the work. It is best if each person has their own responsibilities. In our family my Dad mows the yard I take care of the trimming, and my little brother picks the weeds. It takes us about 10 to 20 minutes to do a lawn. We get paid 5 to 10 dollars per yard. It has been a very lucrative summer business.

One of the hard things people first come upon when starting a business is getting new clients. For us it wasn't very much work. My dad got in photoshop and designed a flyer. This had the name of our business and all of the different kinds of work we were going to be doing this summer. It also had a large area where we put our phone number. After handing out flyers to everyone in our neighborhood, the calls started coming in. This was how we got started with our first 5 clients. The other way we have gotten a lot of new clients is from personal referrals. This is actually the best way. This is when someone you are doing work for referrers your company to a friend or family member. We are hoping to get a lot of this to help with the growth of the company next summer.

We have a lot of different clients. Some of them had a lot of junk in their yard that is hard to mow around. That is one of the secrets to running a successful business. You always have to go above and beyond to keep your clients happy.

We have done our lawn mowing business for about three months. We are going to work hard over the winter so we can expand in the summer. I think having your own business teaches discipline. It is also really nice to have my own money. With the money we learned from doing lawns this summer my brother and I bought a new lap top. I would encourage all kids to start their own business.
