. Some guys will kind of walk up, try to come off like they are super smooth and end up looking like just another wanna be pick up artist. 1. You need to initiate eye contact and be able to hold it without looking like a creep.
Eye contact can be a pretty powerful thing, and when it is used right, it can create attraction with a woman before you even get near her. The thing is, most guys will either wait for her to initiate eye contact, or they will dart their eyes all around the room and try to look like they are not looking at her. And then some guys have no problem with maintaining eye contact, it's just that the way they do it, it kind of creeps the woman out. Play around with this until you get the reaction that you want, because it makes the whole approaching a woman deal a whole lot easier.
2. You need to walk over to her without hanging around, looking like you are contemplating making a move.
While you don't want to rush over so quickly that you look like you are desperate for a woman's attention, you also need to be ready to make your move. Too many guys, especially the shy ones, end up looking like they are pondering the fate of the world before they make their move. Trust me, you don't want to make her think that you are hemming and hawing about walking on over to her.
3. It has to seem like a natural interaction, not a classic and generic "pick up."
If it comes off like a generic pick up, like you are just a guy out trawling for women, then your success rate will not be what you want it to be. Women will usually shut down a guy they think is just there for the pick up. However, if it comes across as a genuine and normal interaction that just happens to lead to a lot of flirting, that is a much better approach.
