Author: Mike CrawfordWe have lost millions of jobs in the United States in the last couple of years. Unemployment is the highest its been since the great depression. According to the Department of Labor there are over 31 million Americans without jobs and many have given up on finding employment again. That is a lot of stressed out, hurting, struggling folks.
This point was driven home to me a couple weeks ago when I got an email from Mike Dillard that contained a ten second video demonstrating the devastation that has occurred to the American worker. If you have not seen what I'm talking about than you can visit my blog to view this sobering video. You will find the link in my post matching this article. As the video shows the East and West coast have been hit the hardest by the loss of jobs, but clearly their isn't really any place that has not been affected by what has happened in the last two years.
Will 2010 be any better for the millions who are without jobs?
Well if you are one of those millions on the unemployment lines the answer to that question really depends on you. If you are looking for another job that will pay you as well or better than the one you lost good luck, that is probably not going to happen, and even if it does how long before the next crisis and next company decides to outsource their jobs to some foreign country where labor cost and the overall cost of doing business is much cheaper.
You could do like one guy I saw on the news a while back. He lost his corporate job where he was making a six figure income, about to loose his beautiful home, struggling to provide the very basics for his family, he took a job as a pizza delivery person. Now don't get me wrong there is nothing wrong with having a pizza delivery job, but to go from where this guy was to pizza delivery is sad to say the least and certainly will not give him the kind of financial relief that he and his family need.
What if you could take a different route to solving your unemployment woes???
Why not start your own business? Better yet, why not start your own home based business, or direct selling business, or internet marketing business, or mlm company? There are several reasons why you should consider this.
