Free Baby Stuff. Its Out There!
Everyone loves a freebie, especially when it really is something you may have spent your hard-earned cash on anyway.
Being given free baby stuff is a definite perk of pregnancy and motherhood.
There are so many things a baby needs (who would have imaged a tiny little person would need so much paraphernalia?) that its a great idea to try before you buy.
It works for the baby companies too. Brand loyalty is worth a lot to the manufacturers so if they can hook you into using their brand before the competition does so, its a boost for them and you get to try products for free.
So where do you find all these free baby samples?
Well much is available via the pregnancy and baby websites.
Some offer great goody bags packed with free baby stuff and vouchers to try other free baby stuff simply by signing up to their website.
Once you have joined as a member you can give your permission for your contact details to be passed on to companies who work with the website and then the samples just pop through your door or youll get emailed vouchers and special offers giving you access to free baby samples.
Dont worry you can opt out whenever you want; but as offers usually get targeted to your specific stage of pregnancy or motherhood its well worth keeping up your membership and accepting all the free baby samples they want to send you.
These online baby clubs are not only useful as a source of free baby samples, but also good for giving advice on what you have to buy for baby before she arrives.
Other sources of free baby stuff:
Friends and family
Baby items can be borrowed from friends or family and some can be bought second hand at greatly reduced costs.
Dont be embarrassed to ask friends if you can borrow stuff. A few items borrowed from various pals would be a great boost.
The only item which should never be borrowed or bought second-hand is a car seat, unless you are 100% positive they have never been in a car accident or been dropped and cracked. Any fractures to a baby car seat will weaken them and make them unsafe in an accident.
Otherwise it makes good financial sense to accept as many hand-me-downs as you can. Babies grow out of clothes very quickly and really wont mind wearing hand-me-downs or borrowed items.
Go direct
Visit the websites of baby product manufacturers as they sometimes give free baby samples when launching new ranges or as a means of carrying out market research on new products or changes to existing ones.
Magazines and newspapers
You can sometimes find freebies and money off coupons in magazines and newspapers.
Supermarkets
Some supermarkets run their own baby clubs which carry links to special offers.
