Foreclosure Clean Up Business Advice: How To Market Your Business Beyond The Foreclosure Crisis

Share: Many foreclosure cleaning entrepreneurs got into this niche because it was a bonafied "hot" small business opportunity
. And this was smart. But if you're one of these enterprising entrepreneurs, have you thought about what will happen to your business when this crisis is over in the next 24-36 months?
Right now (fall 2010), we're still in the thick of it. But this disastrous real estate market will rebound. It always does. Then what for you and your business?
The answer is - transition it.
Foreclosure Cleaning is an Evergreen Business: Here's Why
The reason this business is such a wonderful one to start is that it's the type that thrives - in good times and bad because as long as real estate is bought and sold, the services that foreclosure clean up companies offer will be in demand.
But, like other type of enterprise, it's how you market it that will make the difference. Following are two things you can start doing right now to transition your business for a different real estate market so you will always have jobs coming in.
Foreclosure Cleaning: 2 Ways to Keep Jobs Flowing In
Use Transitional Wording: To explain by way of example, if your business is named, ABC Foreclosure Cleaning, start referring to it as "ABC Real Estate Services & Maintenance" every opporutnity you get.
This means on your blog, on your website, in your sales letters, on invoice letterheads.
The reason you want to do this is to force clients to start thinking of your company as more than "just" a business that services foreclosed properties, but one that provides a whole range of "real estate related" services they might need for all types of properties.
Set Up Mirror Websites: What I mean by this is, have two websites: one for foreclosure cleaning and the other for "Real Estate Services & Maintenance".
By the way, this can literally be the same website, but with some minor changes. For example, on the "Real Estate Services & Maintenance" site, there would be less of an emphasis on servicing foreclosed properties, and more of an emphasis on services that pertains to all types of properties, eg, homes for resale, commercial cleaning, debris removal from apartment buildings, etc.
A full-service foreclosure cleaning company would provide these services anyway. But, it's how you pitch them that make all the difference in the customers' mind.
Transitioning Your Foreclosure Cleaning Business
It's all a matter of perception. This type of "niche marketing" is what big city advertising firms use all the time to make consumers want $300 jeans instead of a $30 pair of (just as stylish in my opinion) Levi's.
So borrow the mindset of the "big guys" to when you market your foreclosure cleanup business to keep it in the green (dollars that is).
