I personally know how difficult it's to carve out the time to take a family camping trip nowadays
. Especially with everyone having such hectic schedules. However i have also learned that if we don't take a seat and plan out when and where we're going, the trip might not happen.
I found this video by REI that provides some good tips on how to start planning the next family camping vacation.
Sherrion shows that the first thing to do before anything else would be to plan out when you can go. This can be the hardest task that you face when going camping. But when you don't nail down the time, the possibilities very good that your trip might not go as planned.
The 2nd step she takes would be to research the camping location. She attempts to determine if there are any fees or reservations that'll be needed prior to the trip. This is often quite important especially if where you stand going is particularly popular or maybe you plan on camping on a journey or special event weekend.
The next matter on her planning list is to buy the kids involved in the research from the campground to learn what there's in the area. Now in this video , it may sound as if they may do more camping in national or state parks. That is fine, but is not everyone's cup of tea.

This is a good idea for all those days when mother nature decides to misbehave! Indoor pursuits like children's museums, history museums or attractions, indoor mini golf, departmental stores and other site seeing destinations are a few good suggestions.
Having your kids get involved with food selection and what fun items to take can go a long way towards making your children feel like a part of the camping experience rather than being dragged along for that ride. After all isn't camping said to be about doing something together?
