Drug abuse is a growing problem worldwide; especially in the western hemisphere
. The problem exists in many families regardless of income level, educational background or culture. As people experience a more complicated lifestyle, the number of sufferers are increasing. There are many people that are severely over weight, and would love to lose weight but they cant stop over eating or stop eating the kinds of foods that contribute to weight gain. Or there are some that smoke, others that drink soft drinks, even some that cant stop using profanity.
If there is anything that you do that you wish you could stop, but unconsciously you repeat the action; that is a form of addiction. Bottom line is that an addiction is an addition, and it takes effort, and for some professional help to conquer.

# First of all, if youre taking drugs thats not for therapeutic reasons, then you are more than likely taking them for the wrong reasons.
# If you find that every time a problem arises in your life you reach for a drink, pills, or other
non-prescription drugs, then there is a problem.
# f you cant drink socially; what is meant by socially? If you cant have just one drink from time to time chances are you need help.
# The last but not least, if you are stealing, robbing or hurting others to support your habits, thats a true sign that you need help.
