With that being said, you should start thinking about engaging yourself in a exercise program. Before you start any kind of exercise program, you should first, "consult with your doctor". Your doctor should know when you are able to start an exercise routine. Losing weight post pregnancyis going to be the main task at hand. When you start thinking about your new exercise routine, you will have to work it into your busy day. There is two of you now. Your baby will develop new habits which you will soon become accustomed to. Your workout doesn't have to consist of a rigorous routine. You do not need to exercise like you are training for a decathlon. A workout which consists of about 10 minutes a day will be a very good start. Remember, you are just trying to get your strength back right now. Your body has been through alot. Set some short term goals and long term goals. This will keep you motivated. Losing weight will be your main goal. Setting these goals early will help you shed the weight you need. If a new mom waits to long to shed any weight that was gained during her pregnancy, chances are it will become even more difficult to lose this weight in the future. Eating the correct foods go hand and hand with the weight that you want to lose. Proper dieting is a must. Junk food in not a food group. Stay away from unhealthy foods right now. This is the time that your body needs to be nourished with fruits, vegetables and grains. A good calorie intake for a new mom is 1800 calories. Sleep is going to be a factor in your weight lose. On the average, a new mom needs to get at least 8 hours of sleep in order for her to lose weight steadily. This will be difficult, due to the nature of your baby.
