Are you looking at perhaps taking the family to the nascar races this year? Then you should have a closer look at Daytona International Speedway.
Daytona International Speedway -"The World Center of Racing."
Daytona International Speedway is located in downtown Daytona Beach, Florida. It's a 2.5 mile superspeedway that was built in 1959 by Bill France, Sr., who was also the founder of Nascar.
(National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing), hence the phrase Nascar races!
Even if you're not a race fan, you simply have to visit this amazing facility. There's even a race museum on site called Daytona USA. It's the Ultimate Motorsports Attraction.' This complex is an exciting fan friendly attraction located at the speedway. It gives the fans an interactive experience and education into the world of stock car racing. It truly has become a major tourist attraction.

There are two premier series nascar events each year at Daytona, along with many other various events throughout the year.
Daytona 500 The Biggest Event at Daytona Speedway
The series kicks off the season with the biggest race of the year located at Daytona speedway and I'm sure you've all heard of it at some point. It's called the "Daytona 500". It is the most prestigious stock car race in the world.
The next major race event is in the summer normally over the Independence Day Holiday Weekend. The race track has lights erected so the summer race is held in the evening. Watching a race under the lights is spectacular, even the drivers prefer to race at night under the lights!
Our family attended the nascar races at Daytona in conjunction with a summer vacation to Disney World Florida. We travelled all the way from the west coast of Canada and memories of this holiday will last a lifetime.
With a little careful planning ahead, we were able to take in so much over the 2 week visit, keeping all members of the family happy.
Daytona Beach is about a 1 hour drive from Disney World, making it easily accessible. You can enjoy a few days in Disney World, take in Daytona Beach and the nascar races and enjoy the surf, sun and sand at the same time.
There's over 25 miles of beach along the shores of Daytona Beach that are lined with accommodations to suit you and your family budget.
From beaches, fishing, golf, dining to stock car racing, Daytona has everything for you and your family.
One other stop we made was to the Kennedy Space Center. It definitely is worthwhile and enjoyable for the whole family.
So stop thinking about attending the nascar races and consider Daytona speedway as an option. You won't be disappointed. It has been without a doubt, one of the best vacations we have taken as a family and one of the most exciting race events attended as well.
