James, Viscount Severn (James Alexander Philip Theo born December 17, 2007), is a member of the British Royal Family (the second child and only son of Prince Edward, Earl of Wessex, and Sophie, Countess of Wessex). The christening took place at a private chapel in Windsor. The christening gown, worn by Viscount Severn, was a hand-made replica of the christening gown worn by Queen Victoria's daughter. The original gown had been worn at other royal christenings but has now been preserved. The Queen commissioned the replica gown.

A Norwegian royal baby, Maud Angelica was christened at the Royal Chapel, Oslo. Maud Angelica wore the traditional royal Norwegian christening robe handmade by Princess Ingeborg of Sweden in 1920. The first child to wear it was Prince Georg of Denmark (son of Princess Margaretha, Princess Ingeborg's oldest daughter). Since then, the christening gown has been worn by most of Crown Prince Olav and Crown Princess Mrtha's descendants. The names of all the wearers have been sewn onto it.

The gown was made of French organza with lace from Princess Benedikte, which originally came from her grandmother, Queen Alexandrine of Denmark.
