The United States, Australia and some European countries have now realised the potential of the big market that exists for cashmere products and have started exporting them in huge quantities to meet the eve growing demand. China though has emerged as the biggest exporter.
Scarves have a very interesting history and their beginnings can probably be traced to the Roman empire when these scarves were used as a piece of clothing called sudarium. It was meant to wipe off sweat in the hot and humid conditions. Ancient armies of various empires used it as a form of accessory to differentiate between different regiments and even other armies. This was also useful in differentiating the enemy in the times of war.
