Can Your Non-organic Skin Care Products Harm Your Baby?

When you have a child, your skin care products matter more than ever

, and you should carefully consider the source of that skin care product. What ingredients are being used in that lotion or moisturizer? Why is this so important? For two reasons; one, you ingest just about everything on your skin into your bloodstream. If you are breast feeding, then that toxic sludge is being fed to your baby. Two, your skin is in direct contact with your baby as much as his baby blanket is. Would you cat his baby blanket with toxic chemicals? If not, then why are you putting him in contact with them through your skin contact? Think this through, because his little life and the way it is starting out is going to be affected.

Did you know estrogen is present in many forms in most skin care products that are sold over the counter? This is a big problem, because excess estrogen is a bad thing. It causes many problems, from hormone imbalances to cancer. How can you keep your baby safe from all this? Make sure that number one, you are not using any of these toxic skin care products, and two , you are only buying certified organic skin care products.

When a label does not have the word "certified" on it in connection with being organic, this means that it has not passed a critical test. To be able to be labeled as a certified organic skin care product, whether that be a lotion, moisturizer or some other skin care product, it has to pass a test saying that it is at least 95% organic in its ingredients and that the other 5% are all natural in their origins. This is important, because the pile up of these toxins and hormones are cumulative in their affect and dangers.

USDA certified organic skin care products do offer some other benefits other than the direct ones we have listed here. First, they are all organic, so you don't have to be worried about how they were derived. No harm to the planet was done in the process. Second, no harmful by products were produced, necessitating some awful hazardous waste process (ever considered that, that to make your mainstream skin care product, there has to be a hazmat team to handle the chemical waste?) that harms the environment. For lots of reasons, certified organic skin care is the only kind you should buy.
