As a youth he helped his Dad, Don Smith, who worked for the Arizona Game and Fish, manage wildlife. His training to date includes one year of taxidermy school and 6 months of advanced training. Grady has changed his focus from mammals to just birds. For this he took training from Rodger Gidney of Cedar Glen Wholesale Bird Taxidermy. Grady is also getting ongoing training and help from our good friends Bob and June Hancock, one of Arizona's best bird taxidermists.
Nancy became Grady's wife on February 23, 2008. She shares Grady's love of the outdoors, is an avid fisherman, and can shoot a gun also. This past Elk Season, she shot her cow elk all on her own.
